1. Night Face Moisturizer:
With just 2 fingers of coconut oil is plenty, a little goes a long way and rub on the face, neck and chest. Night is best especially if you wear make up use on face for daytime may cause make-up to feel slippery.
2. Make-Up Removal:
Place a small amount 1-2 tsp onto a cotton round and softly wipe off lipstick, eyeliner, mascara, foundation even waterproof make-up
3. Body Lotion:
Can be used all over the body as a moisturizer, the skin absorbs the coconut oil. Love to use on my legs to have that shiny glow. You may think it will leave a oily residue but it will not stain clothes or feel greasy at all.
4. Bath Oil:
Add about 2 tablespoons to a warm bath with whatever else you like for example; epsom salt, bath ball, essential oils. Just be careful as you get out the bath, it gets slippery!
5. Shaving Cream:
Keep some in the shower which will make the coconut oil soft, then rub a thin layer and shave or you can layer a different shaving cream or soap on top of the coconut oil. Your skin wil be really smooth after shaving either way.
6. Hair:
Rub a small amount between fingers to warm it up and lightly coat hair to give it shine and get rid of frizz or if you are blow drying your hair often you may want to add after heat treating. If you have dandruff, dry itchy scalp the best way to use this is to heat some up on low heat to turn into an oil and massage into the scalp. Too much and it will have hair looking oily and weight down just a little is needed. Don’t recommend to put a lot of coconut oil in your hair like a hair mask because you will have to shampoo your hair a lot of time to try to get the oil completely out.
7. Nails & Cuticles:
Rubbing some coconut oil on the cuticles & nails once or twice a day helps prevent cuticles from peeling and promotes nail growth. Works for nail fungus, rub coconut oil twice a day and it can help cure the fungus. Its best if you can have it on for at least 30 minutes before washing it off that’s why best to do it before bed.
8. Antibacterial/Antiviral:
Coconut oil is high in lauric acid which has antibacterial, anti-fungal & antiviral properties. Can be used for a variety of things from a small cut or scrape, bug bites, or cold sore. It does not work for all types of bacteria but if you are in a pinch and don’t have Neosporin dabbing a bit of coconut oil can help.
9. Teeth:
Oil pulling for your teeth is taking about a tablespoon for coconut oil and swishing it around your mouth everywhere, in between the teeth for about 15-20 minutes. Doing this daily helps to reduce bacteria which can improve bad breathe, gum health, help with removing plaque and whitening your teeth.
10. Body Scrub:
Add equal parts coconut oil and brown sugar, optionally add essential oils to get some aromatherapy, or you can even add a little vanilla extract. Treat your partner is making a sugar scrub…it will leave their bodies feeling smooth, moist & pampered.
