CBD which actually stands for cannabidiol it is extracted from the hemp plant using a solvent like ethanol or supercritical carbon dioxide to separate the beneficial compounds within the plant from the rest of the plant compounds. CBD will not make you fell high like marijuana.

CBD can be extracted from the marijuana plant but the CBD in a marijuana plant is much less than in the hemp plant. Hemp is not the same as Marijuana though they are both from the cannabis sativa family. Major difference is that the Marijuana plant contains 15-20% THC which is the property that makes you high and hemp contains less than 0.3% THC.

Is Hemp Oil the same as CBD oil?

No, hemp oil does not contain any CBD content because hemp oil is made from the seed of the hemp plant and CBD is extracted from the flowers, leaf & stalk, that’s where the high content of CBD are in the hemp plant and not in the seeds.

There are 3 different types of CBD available:

Suggested use for CBD product, start with 15-20mg daily for a week and if desired affect not achieved increase 5-10mg until you know what level works for you to get the desired benefits.

CBD Isolate is just as it sounds all other compounds are removed (more than 80 compounds in the hemp plant) all removed to leave only CBD, meaning there is zero THC content in an isolate. This is the purest form of CBD.

Benefits: Odorless, tasteless, no THC clean drug test or if THC still illegal in your state, easier to take higher doses, if someone is sensitive to the other cannabinoids they are removed and will not affect them. Recommended for first time user that want to try CBD.

Broad Spectrum CBD also has zero THC content like the CBD Isolate but the difference is that all the other 80 or more compounds besides CBD from the hemp plant are still in the oil, only the THC is removed.

Important to note this CBD option has the natural hemp strong flavor and odor but like the Isolate no THC so legal, clean drug test with the added benefits of having all the hemp plant compounds that some call the “Entourage Effect”.

The Entourage Effect is when there is a combination of the terpenoids with the cannabinoids; some people believe it boosts the health benefits and overall therapeutic effect of cannabinoids. This has not been researched enough to be fact though many CBD users may feel like it is a fact.

Full Spectrum CBD contain all the compounds from the hemp plant and contains a small amount of THC, must be under 0.3% of THC. THC is the mind-altering compounds that is in marijuana which is still legal in many states, so depending on where you live Full Spectrum may be illegal.

Since Full Spectrum has 0.3% or less of THC you may have some marijuana side effects if you are sensitive to THC, if you take a drug test THC may be present. Like broad spectrum it does have the strong hemp odor and flavor. You still get the entourage effect since all the compounds of the hemp plant are within the oil and some may prefer since it goes through less processing than the other CBD Isolate & Broad Spectrum.

A study from 2015 done by The Lautenberg Center for General Tumor Immunology in Jerusalem about The Entourage Effect of CBD Oil which noted full-spectrum CBD is capable of offering more significant levels of anti-inflammatory relief, as higher doses were administered to mice. A group of mice given isolate CBD did not experience the same level of relief at higher doses.
