About the vitamin chica

Ms. Lynette Cornell

Who Is The Vitamin Chica?

I am a Dominican American, born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree from Ithaca College and a Food Science Certification from the University of Guelph. With over 20 years of experience in the food science industry, specializing in dietary supplements and sports nutrition, my expertise spans sensory panels, stability testing, and product development from marketing concepts to production. I remain passionate and excited about my work, especially when I see products I’ve developed on store shelves across the US and around the world.

Growing up, my kids affectionately dubbed me “The Vitamin Lady.” This nickname arose because I’d often come home from work smelling like a mix of herbs, vitamins, and whatever flavor I was working on that day in the lab. Additionally, many people I encountered had never heard of a food scientist before. When I explained that I wasn’t a nutritionist or a chemist, I’d simplify it by saying I develop vitamins and supplements, to which they’d respond, “Oh, so you’re the Vitamin Lady.” People sometimes stop me to ask about my skin or health tips eager to learn my secrets, especially when they see me with my grandchildren. I would often find myself sharing healthy lifestyle tips, whether in intimate conversations, writing notes for waitresses, or sending regimen recommendations via email to friends.

This inspired me to share my knowledge with the world, rather than just in intimate conversations or through notes and emails to friends. Everyone should have access to this information, presented clearly and backed by trustworthy, documented sources.
